As Speaker Pelosi and House Democrats continue their five-week vacation, House Republicans will meet again today on the floor of the House of Representatives to demand that Congress reconvene to address the nation's energy crisis.  Since beginning their historic effort, 105 Republican members, over half of their conference, have spoken face-to-face with thousands of citizens on the importance of increasing American energy production. Rep. John Shimkus (R-IL) began this morning by saying:
"One solution to high energy prices is more supply. Off shore we have billions of barrels of oil and trillions of cubic feet of natural gas that are placed off limits by this Congress every year. We demand this restriction be lifted."
