"The most striking thing about ANWR is when you come over the mountains, there is nothing. It's barren, it looks like the moon. The caribou population has tripled since the pipeline was built in Alaska. The caribou huddle along the pipeline in the winter and fewer die because the oil coming out of the ground is warm."Rep. Bill Shuster (R-PA): "Nuclear energy is a green form of energy. There are no carbon emissions and the waste can be recycled. Up to 95% of the waste can be put back into the plant." |
